Pickin’ Up Those Peaces

About

My name is Michael Cavett.

I’m 51 years old, a chef, a gelato chef, an entrepreneur, and a health, wellness, and life coach. I’ve lived and worked in six countries, became fluent in Spanish, and built businesses across restaurants, gelato, kombucha, consulting, and logistics, among other things.

I’ve fallen sixty feet out of the sky in a kiteboarding accident and rebuilt from forty-two fractures. I’ve come off opioids cold after twenty-one days in a hospital. I’ve survived a scopolamine and ketamine poisoning that nearly killed me. I’ve done plant medicine diets of the Shipibo practice, woven together with breath work and meditative techniques, and I’ve lived the months and years after each of those experiences learning what integration actually requires.

I’ve had the conversation with myself, in the middle of recovery, that most people never say out loud: ‘I don’t know if I want to be here anymore.’ I pulled myself back from that. I documented it. I have lived it and now I am using it.

I am completing my certification through Wellcoaches, the gold standard in health and wellness coach training, and preparing for my NBHWC board examination. After that, ICF certification follows. The NBHWC is the national credential recognized by the American Medical Association, Medicare, and the leading health systems in the country.

The certification tells you I know what I’m doing. My life tells you I know what you’re going through.

The first ninety days are always the hardest. That’s not a warning. That’s just true.

Core Values

What guides this work

Honest

I will be direct with you, not blunt but honest and respectful. I will tell you when something is outside my scope and help you find the right professional for what you need.

Accountable

I will hold you accountable and help you stick to your word, because that’s a large part of the job.

Present

I will be fully present in every session, no split attention, and I will bring my whole history to this work, not to talk about, but as the foundation of who I am in the room with you.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit

What I ask from you is honesty, commitment, willingness to go outside your comfort zone, and trust in the process long enough to see it working.
